Can not read the name on this stone but someone knows who he was. I do know that he was a veteran because of the flag. This grave gets a new flag, because when I visit here he always has a flag on his grave. Maybe some day I will learn his name. I took these pictures at different times. You can tell how time has faded the stone. That's why we need to transcribe these old cemeteries so we have records of the past.
This grave belongs to a child, his name is Joe Calvin he was born Oct. 22, 1952 and he passed in 1959 .

This is two different markers, the one in the front is A.G and E.W Carson's daughter. Can not make out her name or when she passed on. The second marker is someone's wife, the date is Sept. 18th, 1867. Her name might be Emma and her last name might be Auston just not sure they are hard to read.
This is Sarah M. Kent's grave, she was only 37 years old when she passed away. She was the wife of John Kent and she died Jan 10, 1867.
This grave marker is resting against the tree , this might be the area where Thomas is buried. He is the son of J. and H. Platt, he passed on Sept. 14, 1856 he was only 1 yr. and 14 days old when he left this world. The heart ache that the parents must of felt when their child died. When I walk through these cemeteries you can tell they must of had very hard lives they died so young. It seems their average life span was in the fifties if they were lucky.
This is were they laid Anna Smith to rest she died Jan, 8, 1885 she was only 4 yr.. And 4 days old. The bottom of the marker says gone but not forgotten. She was forgotten by time but now she is found and never again will she be forgotten as long as this site is up and going.
This is one of the stone grave markers and this one is guarded by a spider... He was not happy with me so I left him alone.

These pictures are just different views of the cemetery. We should all take care of these old cemeteries like our ancestors did because it will be us someday that our love ones will visit. There is to much history in these old cemeteries to let them go. This is a lucky one, there is people out there that try and keep this one up.
THE GREAT RIVER ROAD, I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE TOUR
This is a listing of some of the residents of the Hartford Cemetery. I will finish this cemetery at a later date and will post when it is done.
