In the summer of 1975 Mary Thompson and Irma Waggoner [which I think I am related to Irma],walk this cemetery and they also got some information from Hanks funeral Home. When they walked the cemetery it was not maintained and some of the inscriptions were illegible.They are very brave women to go up there and transcribe those graves in the summer with everything over grown. Thing has changed since their walk. The cemetery is very well Maintained now and it looks very nice. All the missing stones has a metal cross to mark the graves. I have been researching my family history and some of my family is buried in this cemetery. My dad, mom, and me set out to find this cemetery and that was not easy. My dad pointed up this dirt trail which looked like a tractor trail but we were not sure so we stopped and asked someone and she said was the trail. We drove up the trail till we reached a gate that said no trespassing on it. We set there for a while trying to figure out what to do. If it is private land I will get permission first but my dad went to check it out anyway. He came back down and told us the cemetery was there. We opened the gate because it was not locked and drove on up. I think the only reason I went on up is because my Great Great Grandparents are buried up there. I would of turned back if I had no relatives buried in the cemetery. This is a very beautiful place with its giant Oak trees and its wild flowers. I do feel for those that took the walk up that steep hill to bury their love ones. This Cemetery was walked again April 11,2003 by Jim Dreon, Jackie Dreon and Teresa Maddox.

This is just a concrete marker. I wonder if My Great Grandfather made it because that is what marks the graves for my Great Great Grandparents and two of my Great Grandfathers children which he made. This could be Frank Silkwood and my Great Grandfather was friends with him. They have him listed March 12, 1915 as his death , he was 32 yrs old. They got this information from Hanks furnal home. Frank is the Fourth man from the left. The second man from the left is my Great Grandfather that made the Grave markers.
